Just getting into Cosplay and having been born in 1982 I was raised on the OG GI JOE cartoon.
I tried doing Beachhead for NYCC but I wasn’t happy at all with how it turned out, so I’m in the process of redoing him.
I’m currently working on a Flint costume for the RICC, based on the Iron Studios model version of him, but having some trouble both gathering parts and putting them together. I’ve never worn a military beret before so I’m not sure how it goes or where to put the custom patch I had made. I’m also having a hard time finding leather pouches the right shade of brown. I found the belts, buckles, and gun holster on ebay and the black shirt on amazon. Had the name tags custom made and found red stripes for the shoulders. The tiger stripe camo pants I got are super baggy so I’m still hoping to find a more slim fit kind. I’m super skinny so anything too baggy/bulky just looks sad on me.
On the Cobra side I’d love to do Zartan, even though he’s always portrayed as being super jacked with a six pack and I’m super thin. But I’m having trouble finding the right body armor for him. I found some chest/thigh/leg armor on etsy I can paint. But what I can’t find anywhere is how to recreate his 4-layered shoulder armor.
