So I decided to forgo the field manual for Crimson Guard, and opted for a little if ever made cartoon version of the uniform. My first step was looking over the field manual for inspiration, from there I took a leap.
now this image the trim on my screen reads almost turquoise, but after rewatching several episodes its closer to a brighter blue, so brighter blue it will be.
Next step securing the suit. The impression I get is it looks more like a pair of modified coveralls than a 2 piece suit, so coveralls it is.
Amazon.com: TOPTIE Men's Zip-front Long Sleeve Twill Coverall, Red, L Regular | 8.5 oz polyester-cotton, Work overall, Mechanic suit, Workwear uniform, Jumpsuit, Pockets, Relaxed fit, Halloween cosplay : Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry this is what I found, a cotton/ poly blend, not shiny ike true poly can be, its a twill pattern not a ripstop like my Lady Jaye pants. So I ordered this and a second much larger than I need suit to make the bib front placket as well as epaulets, and other odd details.
Next up boots! Love the boots in the manual, however not big on zippers, so goofing off on Amazon again, and found these.
Pull on boots, with the asymmetrical cut, no, not leather, but I can upgrade later. I also found and ordered two leather belt blanks with snaps for the belts
Small zippo pouches, per the field manual
And leather spur straps to add final details to the boots
So that fills out the basic look, now for detail work. More to be posted as it gets completed. Let me know what you think so far, constructive criticism always welcome.
